We are working with One Tree Planted, a worldwide reforestation charity, to facilitate the planting of a tree within the Amazon rainforest for every project we work on, regardless of how big or small.
“More than 60% of Peru is covered by the Amazon rainforest. This reforestation project is located in the Madre de Dios region, home to over 10 percent of the world’s bird species.
“The goal is to restore and protect the “buffer zone” between Tambopata National Reserve, Bahuaja-Sonene National Park, and the city of Puerto Maldonado.
“This area has been identified as a high risk zone for deforestation and degradation due to unsustainable agricultural practices in the region.
“Planting trees here will help conserve habitat for the Jaguar and hundreds of other species living in the protected areas, while providing sustainable livelihoods to local people”
What can you do?
By choosing to work with Glimpse Media, you can also help to slowly reforest the Amazon with One Tree Planted. And there is no limit to the number of trees (or projects *cough* *cough*).
How are you doing?
We will be posting regular updates on our reforestation fundraiser, so keep your eyes peeled. For more information on One Tree Planted, go to www.OneTreePlanted.org
